Devana Park II – the continuation of the story of the intertwining of nature and the city.

Philosophy of the project

When we ask the architect Jadranka Grmek from studio Genius loci why was the forest such a big inspiration in designing the residential neighbourhood Devana Park II and what is one of the essential tasks of any architect, she confides:

not to overcome or change the space, but to add something new into it, a new identity, yet always respecting the existing.

The continuation of the story

You start your day with footsteps on the soil, you sit on a tree trunk, fill your lungs with smell of primordial life and your batteries are charged. Terraced residential buildings Devana Park II are placed as a rock shelter growing from the forest: their façade panels are grey with green elements, reflecting the shape of the hill’s layers and the ridge relief where the buildings are situated. Façade is decorated by greenery which give a sense of sustainability and confirm the alliance with the forest.
